What are cookies

Cookies are small text files that sites visited by users send to their terminals, generally located on the browser directory, where they are stored and then retransmitted to the same sites on the next visit. These allow those who manage the website to do useful things, for example, improve the browsing experience and the functioning of the site, making interactions faster and more personalized, allow the manager of a site to know if a computer (and probably its user) has visited the website before or to store items in the cart, in case of e-commerce site.

The cookie does not have a personal nature per se, but it could be linked to personal information, in the latter case they therefore require consent to use.

They are not used for further purposes and are normally installed directly by the owner or manager of the website. They can be divided into:

functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a series of selected criteria (for example, language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided to the same.
For the installation of these cookies is not required prior consent of users.

Because of the particular invasiveness that these devices can have in the private sphere of users, European and Italian legislation provides that the user must be adequately informed about the use of the same and thus express their valid consent.

advertising: these are the cookies used to track the user’s navigation on the network and create profiles on his tastes, habits, choices, etc.. These cookies can be used to send advertising messages to the user’s terminal in line with the preferences already expressed by the user when surfing online.
behavioral: these are cookies used to collect data on browsing habits and preferences, making profiling and / or customization for the purpose of carrying out market research or distance selling.
The installation of such cookies requires the prior consent of users.

Types of cookies according to the subjects involved

Site manager cookies: if the cookies are installed by the site owner.
